Requirements: Members applying purely for social interaction within the game ARE NOT required to join the forums but this does help us keep track of members. You ARE required to atleast join the Guild HQ here on swtor.com (pre-launch) so that you are automatically placed with our guild on a default server.

So, who are we exactly?
We are an EU-PvE based Galactic Republic guild with a desire to succeed within the Star Wars universe. Originally formed by myself and Myphos, the guild has become a guild that is maintained by members, as well as officers. This does not mean we lack a chain of command though. The structure of the guild will be similar to that of the Jedi Order with compensation for other republic classes. For all classes, the High Council is the ruling body of the guild. This council primarily makes the decisions but will hold guild meetings where members are allowed to voice their opinions, although these are welcome at any time throughout the game. Each class will have a Class Leader who will keep all of their class up to date with the latest information regarding their class.
All of our current members are existing MMORPG players, some of which (including myself and Myphos) have run guilds on various games and still do. Other members have also had the position of class officer and managed the training of other members. With confidence, you can trust us to make sure your stay with us is enjoyable and real to the experience of the Star Wars Universe.
To summarise breifly, we are a guild that is dedicated to giving our members the best experience possible. We have extensive practice at leading guilds and progression using teamwork and providing fair opportunities for all guild members.
Are you right for our guild?
If you are a part of the Galactic Republic, then yes, you are right for our guild. Sentinels of the Light is a social/casual guild who will tackle the challenges of high end raiding. We are open to all classes who will be assigned to a given section of the guild, each section being managed by their respective classes e.g. Troopers will be a part of the Military section which is lead by the class leader, Battle Tactician.
Each member will begin as an initiate who will undergo training given by their respective class leader. If they make the cut, they will be promoted and assigned to a given group leader (Such as Padawans to Jedi Knights/Masters). These newly ranked members will then be granted access to guild resources and guild facilities (such as guild bank if implemented). Members who show dedication to the guild and have recieved sufficient training, can apply for promotion to the final non-management rank (Such as Padawan to Jedi Knight after the Jedi Trials). This promotion will be determined by the members respective class leader and can involve more access to guild resources, depending on how Bioware implment them.
Members will find themselves immersed in a mature yet fun environment, where members have a say in how the guild is run and what the guild will tackle by attending guild meetings held at regular intervals.
Social gaming V Hardcore gaming:
Briefly: Social/casual but willing to accept hardcore groups or setup a hardcore group if we have enough members willing to do so.
We understand that there will be those who cannot raid, or those who wish to raid more often than that we offer. This is why we intend to create an environment where the two can co-exist. The guild will effectively be split into two by using Social and Hardcore tags. Members can apply for a given group and must adhere to that groups rules. Social being people who cannot raid due to work, education etc and merely want a place to socialise and raid every now and again.
Hardcore will be for members who can raid fairly often and wish to do so, in the hopes of progressing through the game in raid content. Each group will be assigned a Raid Leader/Group Leader. These leaders will be deemed responsible for leading their respective groups through raids and other organised content. An example is the Hardcore Raid Leader. S/he will set times that better suit all members of that group (within reason) and will manage the raids, making sure everyone is up to scratch with tactics and gear. They will select who will be assigned to what raid squad (depending on how many members there are in the hardcore group) and ensure that each squad has a well trained leader (if more than one squad is running) and that they progress while having as much fun as possible.
PvP within the guild:
We do not intend to be a major PvP guild but we are aware that there are small groups of people who just want a guild for social interactions while still PvP'ing in their group.
For those people, you may join the guild purely to PvP in your group but beware we are on a PvE server. We will also support a PvP section for those who wish to take part every now and then (So plan PvP events as a guild if requested).

Applications will be managed by visting out website. Simply click [url="http://sotl.myphos.de/application.php"]here[/url]. Acceptance depends on how well you present yourself within the application and upon game release, applications will be more detailed to reflect the nature of the game.
Before we accept you into the guild, the High Council (Currently myself and myphos) will debate as to whether you are suitable for the guild and you may be contacted for a one-to-one discussion with an officer.

Our forums contains our information for members to read, but a breif description of both of us would be, Long time friends who have both managed and been a part of MMORPG guilds and communities.
We plan to make the guild very active as levelers, raiders and social icons.
